Ayahuasca Ceremony: A Sacred Journey with New Life Rising

At New Life Rising, we uphold the sacred traditions of ayahuasca ceremonies, offering a safe and nurturing environment for deep spiritual healing and personal transformation. With over a decade of dedication to this powerful medicine, our retreats are led by a skilled team of male and female ayahuasqueros, trained in the Peruvian Mestizo lineage. Our ceremonies are carefully designed to establish a protected energetic space, allowing guests to embark on their journey with a sense of security and support.

The Importance of a Proper Guide

A truly safe and meaningful ayahuasca ceremony requires skilled guidance. At New Life Rising, we emphasize the importance of trained facilitators who understand the intricate nature of this sacred medicine. Many seekers embark on their journey with ayahuasca without fully grasping its intensity, which is why having knowledgeable guides is crucial. Our team ensures that participants are well-prepared, both physically and mentally and offer a community of support afterward.

Our Background and Training

New Life Rising was founded by a husband and wife whose lives were so completely transformed by the magic of ayahuasca, they dedicated themselves to studying and sharing the gifts of sacred medicinal plants.

Our guides, Matthew and Jeanae, have undergone extensive training in traditional Amazonian shamanic practices, including master plant dietas and the study of Icaros—sacred songs that guide the ceremony. Our work is influenced by the wisdom of experienced shamans, ensuring that our ceremonies maintain authenticity and respect for indigenous traditions.

Matthew possesses a strong intuition and is highly sensitive to energetic subtleties. These skills help him to adapt the songs of the ceremony to meet the energy needs of the room. Jeanae has a very gentle and nurturing energy. Her singing and flute playing invite softness into the space. Matthew brings a grounded masculine energy while Jeanae brings a motherly feminine energy, creating a perfect balance and play between the two polarities.

What to Expect in an Ayahuasca Ceremony

Each ayahuasca ceremony at New Life Rising is carefully structured to create a sacred and secure environment. We offer our ceremonies in the protection of our Maloca, the sacred ceremonial house. Our maloca was built with intention and constructed with 12 powerful crystals at the base of each support pillar. Sage and Mapacho were also used to enforce the energetic vortex.

The process begins with the calling for protection from the great spirit of Mapacho and other master plants we have dieted. We cleanse the space and invite in good spirits to assist in healing. Matthew pours each participant a dose of the ayahuasca brew, while Jeanae says a prayer, and we all drink together. As the ceremony unfolds, our facilitators sing Icaros and play a variety of instruments to help guide the experience.

We offer additional opportunities to drink more medicine throughout the night, ensuring every guest is able to breakthrough and reach the full experience. The ayahuasca ceremony is more than just a psychedelic experience—it is a profound journey into the depths of the subconscious. Sometimes this can be uncomfortable so it's very important that you approach the medicine with purpose and determination.

The Purge

The ayahuasca purge, or 'la purga' is a vital element of the healing process. The purge most often comes in the form of vomiting or diarrhea but can be sweating, crying, yawning, shaking or other forms of energetic release. Far from being a mere physical reaction, the purge is a cleansing mechanism that helps rid the body and mind of toxins, emotional blockages, and negative energies. This deep purification allows participants to release traumas, gain clarity, and make space for renewed insight and spiritual growth. Embracing the purge as a vital part of the ayahuasca ceremony, rather than something that must be endured, can help shift the perspective and promote gratitude for the process.

Safety and Ethics in Ayahuasca Ceremonies

Safety is the utmost priority at New Life Rising. We require all potential participants to complete a thorough medical screening before being accepted to attend. This screening looks for or contraindications with medications or medical conditions, as ayahuasca is not suitable for everyone.

We ensure that each ceremony is conducted with the highest level of care and ethical responsibility. Our facilitators are trained in recognizing and addressing potential challenges that may arise during the experience and know how to respond to difficult situations.

Additionally, we have a male and female helper present at every ceremony so that we stay respectful of boundaries and ensure every participant feels supported.

Benefits of Ayahuasca

Participating in an ayahuasca ceremony is a life-changing experience that requires courage and openness. Many who attend our retreats describe a profound sense of healing, inner peace, and expanded consciousness. By embracing the teachings of ayahuasca, individuals often find themselves more aligned with their true purpose and able to release limiting beliefs.

At New Life Rising, we believe that healing occurs on multiple levels—physical, emotional, and spiritual. Through the guidance of our experienced facilitators and the wisdom of the plant medicine, participants often leave our retreats with a newfound sense of clarity and purpose. We are honored to serve as guides on this sacred path. Whether you are seeking healing, spiritual growth, or a deeper connection to the universe, our ayahuasca ceremonies offer a gateway to profound transformation.
