The Third Eye

The Pineal Gland, also known as the ‘third eye’ is our window into the spiritual realm and other dimensions. It is activated during ayahuasca ceremonies and is what is allows us to see such vivid and beautiful visions. The third eye has been revered by religions and cultures for thousands of years. From Egyptians, to Christians, to Hindus and Buddhists, representations of the Pineal gland and the third eye can be seen all over the world.

Pineal Gland

The Pineal Gland, also known as the ‘third eye’, is a small (8mm) reddish-grey endocrine gland located near the center of the brain between the two hemispheres at the same level as our eyes. Its shape resembles a pine cone, from which its name is derived. The pineal gland is responsible for producing 2 crucial hormones: Melatonin - which is regulates our sleep/wake cycles and Serotonin – which is the primary contributor to feelings of happiness and well-being. The pineal gland also works with the hypothalamus gland which influences the body’s hunger, thirst, biological clock and sexual desire. The pineal gland develops most between the ages of 1 and 3 and then begins a slow calcification process in which the gland shrinks in size. Descartes (1662AD) referred to the Pineal Gland as the “seat of the soul” and it is credited for being the key between the physical and spiritual worlds as well as being a portal to consciousness.

The Third Eye

The Pineal gland, which has been referred to as the ‘third eye’ for thousands of years is actually photosensitive (can see light), has retinal tissue composed of photoreceptors (rods and cones) inside it’s interior lining and is even wired into the visual cortex of the brain – literally making it a third eye inside of our brains, but it also provides perceptions beyond just ordinary sight. The third eye is what allows us to connect and communicate in the spiritual realm. It is often associated with visions, clairvoyance, precognition, and out-of-body experiences.

Historically, ancient cultures and religions have represented the pineal gland and its importance through symbolism in art. From Egyptians, to Christians, to Hindus and Buddhists, representations of the Pineal gland and the third eye can be seen all over the world. Hinduism and Buddhism use the third eye as symbolism of enlightenment. Hindu tradition associates the third eye with the ajna, or brow, chakra. In Taoism and many traditional Chinese religious, "third eye training" involves focusing attention on the point between the eyebrows with the eyes closed. At the Vatican in Rome, there is a huge pine cone which represents the pineal gland. In Egyptian art we see the eye of Horus. Even on the U.S dollar bill we see the ‘all seeing eye’ – which is another representation of the third eye. What all these things have in common is that they represent ‘enlightenment’ or a higher form of consciousness where we are able to see truth.

The pineal gland is said to be the place responsible for secretion of DMT at the time of birth and death – causing the out-of-body experiences and mystical visions often reported by those that have had a near death experience. DMT, referred to as ‘the spirit molecule’ for its ability to produce intensely spiritual experiences and profound insights into one’s life and consciousness, is the active ingredient in ayahuasca. Ayahuasca is an entheogen that has been used in South America for thousands of years as a means of spiritual healing which produces visions with reoccurring themes for most users. It is also interesting to note the similarity of the structure of the molecules of melatonin, serotonin and DMT which are all produced by the pineal gland.

With the third eye and the pineal gland being revered by cultures all over the world and its association with DMT production, it’s easy to see why the pineal gland is so important when considering spiritual growth, consciousness, awareness and personal growth.

Activation

All of us have the ability to activate and use our ‘third eye’. We often use it without being aware through the process of intuition. The Pineal Gland can be activated in a variety of ways including meditation, chanting and yoga but by far the most effect method of activating the pineal gland is through the use of DMT or ayahuasca.

Calcification

Unfortunately, the pineal gland becomes calcified from heavy metals and fluoride which can restrict is biological function in regards to production of melatonin and serotonin but pineal calcification can also inhibit its spiritual function. Fluoride, which is present in most drinking water and food, is the primary cause of pineal gland calcification. The third eye acts as a magnet for the fluoride as it enters our bloodstream and can lead to depressions and impaired IQ.

By 1951 Fluoridation became an official policy of the U.S. Public Health Service under the guise of being a method of preventative dental care. The knowledge attained through pineal gland activation is a threat to government as it encourages individual thinking and questioning of things we have are taught to accept until we see the truth through consciousness or enlightenment.

Decalcifying your Third Eye

Avoiding fluoride in drinking water. Remove the use of pesticides, fungicides, mercury, and other toxins from your diet. Avoiding using sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. Reduce meat and dairy. Try an alkaline diet. Pineal decalcification can be also be achieved through the same means of activating it. An open third eye brings clarity, concentration, perspicuity, bliss, decisiveness, vivid or lucid dreams, better sleep, enhanced imagination and a deeper intuition. Use of DMT or ayahuasca are the best ways to rapidly decalcify the pineal gland. DMT activation in the pineal gland through ayahuasca use also helps the gland produce more of its own DMT while in its natural state.
